This painting emerged from a moment of weariness and prayer. Glenn Beck asked the Lord how to confront the constant suffering and evil in the world. The answer was a call to look into the places we avoid and witness how Christ sits with those in pain. The artist imagined Jesus living during the Holocaust, choosing to be among the imprisoned to comfort them. The prison uniform bears the Greek letters “TCXC,” representing “Jesus Christ,” underscoring the idea that His presence is found in the midst of the suffering.
